On Free Speech and Speaking Truth

During the October 23, 2026 proceedings in Larimer County District Court (Case No. 2022DR30260), Mother made unsubstantiated claims that this website constitutes "slander"—an assertion made without presenting evidence or identifying a single false factual statement. Following these assertions, the presiding judge suggested that I take such a website down, despite the Court having never accessed, examined, or fact-checked the content of this archive. While I fully support the court's recommendations to remove a website and/or social-media content that violates slander & defamation laws, that is not what this site is about.

Ergo, I state unequivocally: this site will remain online, fully accessible, and actively updated.

As a protective father, male domestic abuse survivor, and citizen of the United States, I possess an unassailable constitutional right under the First Amendment to speak publicly about the severe domestic abuse my daughter and I have suffered. Defamation law protects against false statements of fact; it does not protect perpetrators from the public exposure of the truth. Truth is an absolute defense.

Under Colorado law (C.R.S. § 14-10-124(2)), courts are explicitly barred from restricting parental rights based on conduct between adults that has no bearing on child safety or parenting ability. Publicly documenting systemic abuse, judicial bias, and human services failures bears zero nexus to my fitness as a father or the child's safety. Silencing survivors under the guise of civil decorum merely enables the abuse cycle to continue unchecked. My top priority is my daughter's safety & well-being, and to ensure that, I must tell our truth to the world rather than retreat into silence; every subsequent court proceeding, official filing, and verified record will be published here in full transparency to ensure our daughter is protected and supported - this is the only way to stop the abuse cycle absent our institutional agencies doing their jobs.

Judicial Colloquy & First Amendment Public Record Defense

During an evidentiary hearing in Larimer County District Court (Case No. 2022DR30260), Mother attempted to weaponize this documentation site, claiming without evidence that it constituted 'slander'. Despite the Court never reviewing the website, the presiding judge suggested offhand that Father remove the site. Father maintains that public, fact-based commentary on domestic abuse and institutional failures is protected speech under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and has zero nexus or statutory bearing on parenting fitness, the child's safety, or civil proceedings under C.R.S. § 14-10-124(2). The site remains permanently active as an evidentiary archive.

Unlawful Custody Contact Blackout — Ongoing Without Relief

Mother engineered an ex-parte restriction under C.R.S. § 14-10-129(4) right before the holiday season (repeating patterns from 2025 where Father's Day, Halloween, and Christmas were unlawfully stripped). Mother has enforced an absolute, ongoing contact blackout between Father and their special-needs daughter that continues without judicial relief, failed to provide mandatory C.R.C.P. 16.2 disclosures, and relied on doorstep drop-service while her own exhibit (Exhibit A, page 32) explicitly proved DHS officially concluded: 'No current or impending danger to the child is identified.'

Documented Child Physical Abuse & Phone Bribery by Mother

At the child's school, a mandatory reporting teacher observed a golf-ball-sized bruise on our daughter's arm. The child disclosed that Mother threw her down and bruised her entire leg, and then told the child she could have Mother's phone for a week as compensation/bribe for the physical assault. DHS systematically failed to substantiate or protect the child, classifying it as 'not accepted' under Referral 3805481.

Severe Domestic Squalor & Child Neglect at Mother's Home

An independent pet sitter entered Mother's residence while Mother was traveling and our daughter was with Father. The eyewitness reported an extreme biohazard environment: unwashed moldy dishes, overflowing trash, active gnats throughout the house, and live maggots crawling in the kitchen sink and trash bins. Caseworkers subsequently committed gross clerical inversion in county records by mistakenly attributing the cleaning of Mother's squalor into Father's file.

Judicial Denial of Frivolous Abduction Motion & Hallucinated AI Pleadings

Magistrate Jeffrey M. Schwartz issued a formal written order denying Mother's 'Emergency Petition for Child Abduction Prevention and Emergency Motion for Enforcement of Parenting Time'. The Court found zero credible risk of abduction, noted that Father had merely informed Mother of vacation plans, and rebuked Mother for citing fake legal authority—specifically noting the Court's concern that Mother was using unverified Artificial Intelligence (AI) to hallucinate statutory citations in her court filings.

Unlawful Custody Withholding, 11:20 AM Drop-Off & Broadcast Distracted Driving

Official custody calendar records confirm Friday, March 27, 2026 was Father's court-ordered custodial time under the parties' 5-2-2-5 schedule. Instead of facilitating court-ordered parenting time, Mother unlawfully withheld the child. At 11:20 AM MDT, Mother broadcast self-recorded video while actively operating a motor vehicle on public roads, stating on camera that she 'just dropped our daughter off at school'—more than 3.5 hours past the standard 7:50 AM morning tardy bell. Binary snowflake timestamp analysis of the video metadata (Unix epoch 1774632004) confirms the exact upload time of 11:20:04 AM MDT. The broadcast captures ongoing statutory vehicle violations, including active mobile phone handling while driving (C.R.S. § 42-4-239), failure to wear a mandatory safety belt (C.R.S. § 42-4-237), and operation without lawful registration or mandatory motor vehicle insurance.

Retaliatory Dependency & Neglect Petition (2026JV30010) & ADA Violations

Following Father's December 24, 2025 instruction that DHS communicate through his retained counsel and his refusal to sign an overbroad, unreviewed 2-year blanket Release of Information, Larimer County DHS retaliated by escalating a voluntary Family Assessment Response into a formal Dependency & Neglect prosecution (Case 2026JV30010). Caseworker Amelia Peterson submitted a sworn 9-page petition under penalty of perjury replete with reckless errors—repeatedly misgendering Father as 'Ms. James Maslen (she/her)', misdating multiple referrals and the jurat to 2025, and issuing a summons addressed to 'Jamie Haslen'. While the Department formally recognized Father's ASD, ADHD, and C-PTSD with Title II ADA accommodations in subsequent treatment plans, it systematically violated them in practice via crayon safety plans, leaving 73% of written correspondence unanswered ('Planned Ignoring'), and pathologizing neurodivergent trauma responses.

Father's CASA Safe-Exchange Application & Mother's Refusal

In a direct effort to de-escalate exchange tensions and eliminate Mother's professed anxiety during custodial transfers, Father submitted a formal application to Larimer County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) proposing neutral, supervised custody exchanges at their facility. Father emailed the completed documentation to Mother. Mother completely ignored written follow-ups and explicitly rejected supervised exchanges during subsequent verbal communications. Instead, Mother persistently weaponized exchanges by unilaterally altering agreed exchange locations at the last minute—frequently diverting exchanges from neutral sites like the Fort Collins Police Department to locations convenient to her Loveland residence while Father was en route during limited work lunch breaks, creating artificial crises and threatening employment stability.

Handprint-Shaped Ribcage Bruise & Institutional Screen-Out

A distinctive handprint-shaped bruise was discovered directly on the child's ribcage following custodial care with Mother. Despite formal reporting and photographic documentation of the injury, Larimer County DHS took five days to respond. The assigned caseworker (Amelia Peterson) admittedly never inspected the physical bruise itself and subsequently screened out the report—dismissing the physical trauma with the explanation that 'Mother was just frustrated'—while concurrently disregarding corroborating disclosures from the child regarding abusive household conditions.

Residential Trespass, Attempted Extraction & Stairway Battery

At 6:18 AM, Mother arrived unannounced at Father's residence attempting unauthorized physical extraction of the child outside of court-ordered exchange protocols. The encounter was recorded on high-definition exterior security camera video. Mother forced her way up Father's front steps, banged on doors, and when instructed to leave the curtilage, provoked physical contact and falsely claimed assault. Windsor Police officers arrived, took conflicting statements, and refused to enforce trespass against Mother despite clear video documentation.

Vehicular Physical Endangerment Incident

During a custodial interaction in front of their minor daughter at the child's school, Mother backed her vehicle directly over Father's foot in the parking lot while he was saying goodbye to the child. The incident caused immediate physical injury and severe emotional trauma to the child. Larimer County DHS and local authorities refused to categorize the vehicular assault as an actionable safety emergency or take custody of video evidence.

  • Permitted serial, bad-faith emergency motions under C.R.S. § 14-10-129(4) without pre-hearing evidentiary screening, enabling recurring multi-week custody blackouts on holidays (Father's Day, Halloween, Christmas 2025, and October 2026).
  • Failed to enforce mandatory compliance when Mother defied court orders requiring her to return lost makeup parenting time.
  • Entertained unreviewed extra-judicial claims regarding protected public speech: on October 23, 2026, the Court suggested Father remove this website based entirely on Mother's unverified claims of 'slander', despite the Court having never reviewed the site or its evidentiary documentation.

Larimer County Dept. of Human Services (CPS)

Child & Adult Protective Agency
  • Became involved in May 2025 following a biased medical referral by SummitStone Health, colluding with Mother for nearly a month without contacting Father until June 2025, and opening their very first interview by accusing Father of illicit substance abuse based exclusively on Mother's verbal claim.
  • Retaliatory Prosecution for Invoking Counsel (Case 2026JV30010): When Father directed DHS on December 24, 2025 to communicate through retained counsel (Rob Casey) and declined an overbroad 2-year blanket Release of Information without legal review, DHS explicitly retaliated by converting a voluntary Family Assessment into a compulsory Dependency & Neglect court petition on January 14, 2026.
  • Reckless Pleadings & False Swearing: DHS Caseworker Amelia Peterson signed the sworn 9-page D&N petition under penalty of perjury while repeatedly misgendering Father as 'Ms. James Maslen (she/her)', misdating multiple referrals and the jurat to 2025, and misspelling Father's surname as 'Haslen' on the official court summons.
  • Performative ADA Lip Service vs. Gross Non-Compliance: Despite formally writing ASD, ADHD, and C-PTSD Title II accommodations into Father's Feb 23 and Mar 24, 2026 Treatment Plans, DHS systematically violated them—handing Father an arbitrary safety plan written in crayon/marker, maintaining a 73% email non-response rate ('Planned Ignoring'), and pathologizing his neurodivergent affect as parental instability.
  • Suppression of Physical Abuse vs. Weaponizing Unsubstantiated Hearsay: Screened out or minimized documented maternal violence—including October 10, 2025 reports of four-finger handprint bruising and hip bruising after Mother threw the child into a wall, pole, and trash can—while aggressively seeking court-ordered drug testing against Father based solely on unverified maternal hearsay despite all negative toxicology screens.
  • Coerced Deferred Adjudication & Abrupt Systemic Abandonment: Coerced Father under duress into a 6-month Stipulated Deferred Adjudication on April 24, 2026, then abruptly withdrew the petition and dismissed the case on May 29, 2026 immediately after Father reported a third maternal elopement and arm injury—abandoning required parallel parenting oversight and leaving the child unprotected.
  • Systematically failed to fulfill statutory mandates to protect the minor child, or Jamie as an at-risk neurodivergent adult.
  • Refused to take custody of Poudre School District surveillance video documenting Mother backing her car over Father's foot in front of the child.
  • Consistently screened out actionable reports of child abandonment and domestic violence between 2021 and 2026 (over 36 screen-outs on record).
  • Focused investigative resources on Father's emotional trauma responses to severe abuse rather than evaluating objective parenting competence, while its own formal safety assessment (Oct 1, 2026, Exhibit A, p. 32) affirmed 'No current or impending danger to the child is identified.'

  • Systematically refused to enforce trespass against Deirdre despite clear, objective security camera footage of attempted forced entry into Jamie's residence at 6:18 AM on July 21, 2025.
  • Violated statutory mandatory arrest laws under Colorado domestic violence statutes (C.R.S. § 18-6-803.6), failing to arrest Mother despite probable cause and Mother's violent pounding and shouting audibly recorded on Father's 911 emergency call.
  • Exhibited stark institutional bias and CORA records obstruction: released 911 audio, CAD records, and body camera footage to Mother within days, while systematically withholding the identical records from Father despite charging him for the records request and refusing to respond to refund inquiries.
  • Refused to transmit primary investigative evidence to the District Attorney's office for criminal screening.
  • Attempted to coerce Father into surrendering court-ordered custody during civil disputes and refused compliance with motor vehicle property statutes.
  • Ignored direct public grievances raised at more than six Windsor Town Hall council meetings.

Public Education Mandated Reporters
  • Exhibited stark institutional double standards regarding mandatory reporting thresholds.
  • Failed to submit mandated reports when our daughter arrived from Mother's care with visible bruising and a limp so severe she could barely walk or sit at her desk.
  • Immediately initiated formal reports against Father based solely on uncorroborated third-party hearsay, including normal childhood comments regarding 'creepy noises' in a 100-year-old historic home.
  • Demonstrated policy violations: while strictly barring parents and third parties from obtaining copies of security camera footage (e.g., the May 16, 2025 school parking lot vehicular incident), a school employee improperly transmitted the footage directly to Mother, who subsequently withheld it because it implicates her in physical assault and endangerment.
  • Ignored Chronic Educational Neglect: School administrative staff logged over 213 cumulative tardies and extreme tardies for the child occurring during Mother's custodial mornings between 2022 and 2026 without initiating statutory educational neglect interventions or truancy reviews.

  • Catalyst of DHS Intervention: Prescribing provider Kelsey Milam submitted a formal neglect report against Father after he missed 2–3 appointments caused entirely by Mother's unilateral, uncoordinated rescheduling into Father's work hours, triggering DHS's initial May 2025 investigation.
  • Systemic Exclusion & Records Tampering: Mother repeatedly removed Father's emergency contact information from the child's medical record in SummitStone's EPIC system; Father's repeated formal complaints to clinical staff and management went unaddressed.
  • Provider Bias & Unilateral Clinical Authority: Provider Kelsey Milam consistently spoke over Father, ignored his direct observations regarding the child's care, and refused to engage with Father without Mother present, while concurrently making unilateral clinical determinations based solely on Mother's uncorroborated input.
  • Medication Inversion & Slander Pipeline: Ignored Father's alerts for months that Mother was neglecting to administer prescribed medication, then accepted Mother's false counter-claims that Father was withholding prescriptions—reporting Father to DHS without verification.
  • Administrative Neglect: Ignored Father's written requests for a change of psychiatric provider for months across multiple employees, supervisors, and clinical managers.
